Cydia download is a part of jailbreak process. You
must jailbreak iOS 8.1 if you need Cydia download on your
iPhone 6, 6 plus, iPad mini 2 or iPad air 3. iPhone 6 jailbreak is possible now
since pangu team released pangu8 for jailbreak iOS 8. There is no way and no
requirement to downgrade iOS 8 to 7.x.x. You could have Cydia download
iPhone 6 or iPhone 6
plus easily with Pangu.
Compatible devices include iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPad Air,
iPad Air 2, iPad Mini Retina, iPad Mini Retina 2, iPad 3, iPad 4, or iPod touch
5th gen, running either iOS 8.0 through iOS 8.1. As already mentioned this
specific version is currently for Windows only, so unless you have a Windows
PC, or Windows running in Boot Camp or a virtual machine on your Mac, those
with OS X only would have to sit on the sidelines until a full Mac version is
released. The only other requirement is a USB cable to temporarily connect the
device to the computer to complete the jailbreak.
Before pangu 8 jailbreak start
- Jailbreak at your own risk. There have been numerous reports of success with the jailbreak, however the safety of the jailbreak is currently unknown.
- Passcode/Touch ID should be OFF
- Find my iPhone should be OFF
- Airplane Mode should be ON
- PP jailbreak supports iOS 8.0-8.1.2
- If your device is Jailbroken on a previous version of iOS, it’s recommended that you restore and update your device, and then restore from backup before jailbreaking again
- Make a backup of your device with iTunes
How To Downgrade Your Device To iOS
8.1.1
1) In
case you may be reading this guide late, make sure that Apple is still
signing iOS 8.1. Even though they’re letting folks install the OS now,
that may not always be the case. (On how to check, see next step)
2) Grab
the iOS 8.1 IPSW for your appropriate device via ipsw.me.
Not only does this site allow for downloading, but users can also check to see
if Apple is signing that version of iOS through here. If still signing,
download and save the software somewhere you’ll remember.
3) Now
the fun begins. Plug in your device and open up iTunes. You should
see your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch show up.
4) While
holding Option on your Mac keyboard or Shift on Windows, click
Check for Updates in the top right section. A Finder/Explorer window will pop
up allowing you to point iTunes to where you saved the download IPSW
file.
5) If
Apple is still signing iOS 8.1 then loading on that software to your device
should be a cinch. Congratulations, your iDevice is once again jailbreakable.
The jailbreak Team Pangu have released this week works with
every single device able to run iOS 8 or iOS 8.1. You will need a Windows PC to
run this program. This program only supports SSH, no Cydia at the moment, and a
Mac OS X version is on the way
