Chinese K33n team plans to release an iOS 9 jailbreak

Apple has already announced the new iOS 9 software update for iPhone and iPad, which will be released later this year. The new iOS 9 just like iOS 7 and 8 has many features that have been inspired by popular jailbreak tweaks. Despite that the company likes to avoid acknowledging the contributions of the community that mostly comprises of fans who love the iOS platforms. Despite its popularity the jailbreak scene has been quiet for several months as their hasn’t been a jailbreak for iOS 8.2 as well as iOS 8.3, and the last jailbreak-able version of the operating system remains iOS 8.1.2 that was released months ago.


Right now, Chen says the team is prodding the recently released iOS 9 developer beta, and may even reach out to the well-known Pangu Team for assistance. Chen’s comments will be very welcomed by users in the iOS-modding community, who have not seen a new jailbreak released in more than 6 months. They also alleviate some of the fear put forth by the new ‘rootless’ security feature rumored for iOS 9.

Keen Jailbreak iOS 9 in Works

Keen Team, also spelled as K33n, have gone ahead and made this exciting news public in an interview with Forbes. Liang Chen, a Keen Team member, stated that they are indeed working on a jailbreak iOS 9 and hopefully will be ready with it by this autumn. Chen also showed the Keen Team’s interest to work shoulder-to-shoulder with the famous Pangu Jailbreak Team for the release of their first ever jailbreak.

March 2013 won the prestigious title as first Chinese hacker team at the world hacking contest held in Vancouver.
